now that i thought about it
i did put a set of phase 3 grips on my phase 2 grip frame(both have the metal side plate)
the 3 screw grips might be different

The front of the  grip frame is curved? I think it is Phase II from what I have seen?

Page 3 is what it looks like, but straight grips don't fit: http://www.crosman.com/pdf/manuals/crosman/1377/C1377-EVP-1&2.pdf

I have two newer 3-screw trigger frames and one older 2-screw trigger frame.  All of the Crosman plastic grips and shoulder stocks I have fit all of them.  I have tried both black and green shoulder stocks, Both black and green "checkered" plastic grips, and a set of black grips with only a crosman "C" logo from a 1701.  They all fit both frames.

see if you order from crosman you will get phase 3 1399 stocks.they fit everything even the phase 1 gripframe with some wiggle!
i came across a phase 2 1399 stock. they dont the phase 3 grip frames due to the mounting rail being shorter.the 2 nipples on the gripframe plate interferes with the mounting!
closed mouths dont get fed
