Where is the cheapest place that I can get a metal barrel band for an extended barrel for a 1377? I really don't like the cheap plastic Crosman.

Michael Chavka sells them on the Green and Yellow classified. You can order them sighted or non-sighted.

Something to add to the Chavka band and possibly the Bluefork band is the bushing and reinforcing ring from MellonAir's solid pin kit (the Bluefork band was not available when I started my 1322, so I bought Chavka's, but they are supposed to be very similar).  You can buy the bushing and the reinforcing ring separate from the kit and they add a nice solid feel to the pumping.

Very worth the extra cost in my opinion.
Made a big difference to my 1322 with the Chavka band.

how did the barrel band make a difference??

I am used to my 1377 with the MellonAir solid pin kit inside a GMAC brass barrel band which has no play in the pivot point of the pump arm.  Feels very solid to pump.

When I built my 1322, the Chavka band with it's built in solid pin installed easily, but still had the wobble that the stock pump arm has.  Adding MellonAir's bushing and reinforcing ring to the pin that is part of the Chavka band took all that play out of the pivot point and made it feel much more solid to pump like my 1377.

The barrel band itself did not make a difference, but if he gets the Chavka band adding the MellonAir parts to that band makes a significant difference to the feel of the gun IMO

OK, I went off topic... Back on topic, buying the Chavka or the Bluefork band saves you from buying or making a solid pin for the gun, which should be factored in to the cost.
