I see people talking about putting in a lighter spring in the valve of a 1377 ,what does this do?

And what is its relationship to: "a heavier or lighter hammer spring"?  ???   ???   ???

1377 has 4 springs
hammer
valve
safety
sear

If you change the valve spring out to a lighter one and change the hammer spring out to a heavier one, then in theory, you will be able to dump more air from the valve, more quickly. This is a common mod, once you have a flat top set up. A little experimenting is in order dependent upon anything and everything else you have done.. Hope not to confusing.

disco spring is for dumping all the air out of a valve when using a high number of pumps14+
when using a flat top set up the gun retains air after 14 pumps maybe sooner depending on the hammer spring
closed mouths dont get fed

Where do you get a lighter spring for the valve?

Where do you get a lighter spring for the valve?
i used the trigger/sear spring
any spring close to that works great
closed mouths dont get fed

Where do you get a lighter spring for the valve?

Take your stock spring and go down to Ace hardware and look over their stock of springs.  They have an excellent selection and you can usually find a softer spring or two to experiment with.

Note that you will need to pre-cock the pistol before pumping.

If you are focused on wringing out the maximum fps from your pistol, take a look at this tutorial - http://www.airgununiverse.net/13xxvalve.html

beware the the stronger hammer spring is really only useful when trying to dump ALL the air after pumping more than 14 or more times when using a lighter valve spring --- you will damage the valve internals if  using that set up and only pumping 12 or less times for a  shot
TOO many freaks and NOT enough circuses

people always say you can damage your valve with the heavy hammer spring and light valve spring mod.i dont know what kind of valve springs they are using or hammer springs but they must be excessively light and heavy.
if i had listened to them i would still be trying to find out how to dump all the air out of my valve after 14 pumps
my experience
stock trigger/sear spring in valve and disco hammer spring
after 100's of shots no damage to my valve
before disco hammer spring i had a heavier spring .040 spring wire.1000's of shots with the same valve no damage.the valve stem slides out the valve just like it did when i first got it.
the disco hammer spring and stock trigger/sear spring in the valve has been a happy medium for me.
if you are not planning on pumping past 14x then stick with a stock hammer spring and maybe a power adjuster.i dont use one but have heard they can dump 15 pumps.sometimes i pump to 25x it wont help me
