valve line up with air tube

Howdy, just wondering if anyone has had this issue. I installed  a flat top piston in my 1377. After I secured the valve by installing the grip frame the exhaust port of the valve didn't quite line up with the opening on the air tube. Looks to be about 3/32" off. Would this affect my performance? Thanks...

Sorry, I meant to say valve, not piston. Although I did install both.

This is common and normal, especially if the valve was disassembled for cleaning, resealing, or modified, and tighten completely  back together.

With the valve in placed, gripframe secured to pump tube, breech removed, and the transfer port seal removed the valve can be adjusted so the transfer port holes (valve's and pump tube's) align up corrrectly.

Just place the smooth shank end of a 5/32" drill bit into the valve's transfer port and apply gentle pressure until the the rear valve half turns, so the holes line up better.

If the valve is aluminium you can use a 5/32" wood or plastic dowel to protect the shape of the transfer port.
