How many foot pounds of KE do you guys get from your 13xx's? I know some of you guys have gotten 20+ foot pounds, thats really awesome. That's basically a steroid 392 modded from a pistol. I hope to get my 1377 to about 7 fpe with a flat top piston and some barrel modifications but I'd like to know how much you guys have gotten.

Flat top piston and valve plus a longer barrel, maybe 18"+, and you should be able to break the 7 foot pound mark at 10 pumps.

Well, my 1377 is a 24" barrel carbine, FT/FV, steel breech. I'm getting 9.2fpe with 8.4gr JSB Exacts at 10 pumps.

mine had a 12" barrel, flattop piston, and poly tube transfer port

it was shooting crosman premiers at 640 fps @ 10 pumps. thats a little over 7fpe

i bet you could easily get 7fpe with a stock gun just by installing a FT piston and pumping it a couple extra times past ten

the most i squeezed out of a 13xx was 20fpe
i used a heavy hammer spring, 14.5" 2250 barrel,increased volume valve flat topped, a .22 beeman kodiak 21gr pellet and 35 pumps

Cool guys, thanks for all the info. Its so hard not to just read the numbers for all sorts of guns, we always want to think that the 1000fps gun is better than the 600 fps gun even if it isn't.
I think I have heard of someone named Chevelle getting over 40 fpe from a 13xx setup. Is he still on this forum? Does anyone know how he accomplished this?

millipede

i see a lot of posts by him on the green forum http://www.network54.com/Forum/275684/

i don't know exactly how much he still participates anymore but i run across his posts often when im doing a search on that forum.

millipede

did a quick search for you. it is partially explained here: http://www.network54.com/Forum/275684/thread/1191342526/Any+ANA+Arms+%28Al+Nibecker%29+Quigley+owners-----

in it he says this about it:  ""My gun isn't exactly a 1322 though, more of a 1322 grafted to a 1400 with a 2260 barrel. The point would be to make the 40 fpe with 1/3 less volume than a benji has, using a tiny little 13xx valve. 800 fps with 29 grains...I think I can do that. That would be quite an accomplishment and probably only done to test the limits of the gun.""

chevell is my inspiration
he made a lot of his cool parts without a lathe or mill
although he wasnt around when i start modding his posts are
he started his own forum but it didnt take-off

Yikes  :D  That forum looks a little "stale" , latest posts circa 2009?

Here's a quote from the poster calling himself "chevell" in response to a why don't you contact me type post ... "I'm always busy Walter, just not with airguns much anymore. My guns work so well I don't need to work on them and they can't be made any better so the challenge is gone. And I gave up on the crosman forum, too many trolls there who can't stand hearing the truth. My knowledge will not be shared any longer in that forum as it was never appreciated in the first place..."
