Hi,
I am considering building a .177 cal 2240.With everything standard other than barrel and bolt how long a barrel would I need approximately to achieve 6ftlbs with 8.4 grain JSB pellets.

1377x

it would take 567.22 to get 6fpe
a 10 inch barrel should do it
iirc most 10" barreled 2240's i read about sit around there
closed mouths dont get fed

Hi, I reckon you should do the breech if you can stretch to it.
That plastic can move around I'm sure.
I have a steel one begging to go to a new home if it helps.
PM me if interested.

Hi 'styks',
Thanks, but I won't get to start this until Christmas and fancy an extended brass breech as part of the build.

     ATB. :)

No worries my friend, just thought it'd save you a few bob. I like the sound of a brass breech, should look pretty good with brass fittings.
