I was checking them out last night on PA, got interested a bit and had a chat with a dude on the site to get a little more information.

Does anyone have one?

Many members have the P-Rod. I really like mine, it has good power and it's very accurate. Easy to fill and load love the 8 shot mag.

Do they put LW barrels in P-rods?

BDS

Don't think so, they are "Marauder" lineage, whatever they use for the rifle, is for the pistol too.

I've heard the word "P-rod" a lot, and I feel stupid for asking if it's obvious, but what is a P-rod?  :-[

BDS

Pistol, Marauder or... P-Rod

The Marauder rifle became the M-Rod within weeks of it's debut so, in airgun-speak P-Rod... :-*

No your everyday auto shop compressor will not pump up a high enough pressure. They make a special compressor for scuba tanks they pump up 4000psi.

+1 to Mikes note, the compressors used are very high pressure (3000 psi+) with low volume, just the opposite of a shop compressor which is 125 psi with a lot more volume. Pressure and volume are inverse in most compressor types.

Once you get past the initial expense (and depending on your locale) you can often find a local F.D. station that might fill your tank for you, otherwise, it's a Scuba Shop or industrial gas supply place. Firefighters use an SCBA (Self Contained Breathing Apparatus) bottle at 3200 or 4200 psi depending. You can shop tanks all over the web, just watch out for expired hydro-test dates and dubious sellers, best to buy local so you can look, see, smell, etc. PA is just one seller of new tanks. There is Air Hog, Luxfer, Draeger, Scott and other brands. The best are made with an aluminum liner wrapped in carbon fiber and over-wrapped in fiberglass for impact protetction (that's the milky-white layer you see on the PA tank). The old steel tanks can work just fine but, they are nearly double the weight of all aluminum and nearly 2.5 times the carbon fiber tanks.

I have a fire station about one mile from my place, the wife makes cookies and muffins for the firefighters, I deliver e'm and leave my tanks. Next day, magic! The tanks are filled. :-*

I live in the oil-field, compressors all over the place because of danger of H2S gas....oil pumpers carry SCBA at all times. Unfortunately I have no money for a PCP gun lol
