SS 4-48 BREECH SCREW Again?

I have read this over and over again, never saw a picture.  My first attempt at mod a ss breech screw. With the screws that I bought I had to take 20 thou off the size of the head and it fit. But, I took and flattened the head a little too much. It works, but I thinking when my steel breech gets here, I will mod another screw.

The breech I got from Crosmods came with a ss screw too. But it sit to deep in side the hole that the pellets want to hang up sometimes.  I added a shem under the screw head ( that is after making one ) to stop that problem .

i bet pellets dont get hung up anymore, do they?
the old 1377's used to come with a slotted screw it was just enough to depth the screw driver could turn it.i had to use enogh pressure to keep the driver from jumping the slot

Don't know about the pellets yet. Haven't put one in there yet. Will do here in a little and get back. Like I said, I took a little too much off the top. Hay, it's my first attempt. lol I'm learning.

I chuck mine in a dremel and use a file to reduce the head dia. and while at it, flat the top slightly. Pay attention to the direction of cut on the file and the spin direction of the tool. Failure to do so will result in a "lopsided" screw! Let the speed of the tool do the work!

i tried the drill and ended up with a lopsided screw it works but i cringe everytime i use it

I think the shaft in my Dremel is bent. I have a keyless chuck in it and I tried that and the viberation threw the screw out two times.  So I went to the cordless drill motor. worked. It's my Dremel, it has not been right since I bought it. Now I know what to do to get these things to fit. And 1377x, I tried the pellets, much better. YES!

the screw is almost flush to the loading port the pellets have no choice but to go in with very/no little resistance.

Since we are talking ss screws does anyone by chance have a list for sizes for all the screws on the 1377 Thx Earl

cant recall the name of the thread though
grip frame 8-32 x 1/4 rear and 8-32 x 1/2 front but i think it might be shorter
grips 6-32 x 3/8
rear breech screw length depends on the breech used.1" for the plastic breech and less than 1" for the steel breech but more than 3/4". never measured the correct length it can vary as long as it doesnt bind the spring and locks the breech down with no other issues
from looking around the forums i have seen 2 different sizes,.91 and .68 as far as i can remember .91 is correct but cant confirm this
hopefully another member can with a caliper or some kind of measuring device
i'll measure the length of my stock screws tomorrow

Some people say they simply drip a drop or two of molten wax from a candle, onto the screw head of the breech.  Then form the wax with some object while still warm.  This helps the pellet slid into the chamber easier.
I think a drop of automotive silicone sealant would work too but the wax sounds easier to remove and less likely to stick the pellet and hang it up.

i used the rtv stuff before only because it was what what i had on hand it worked good.when it was time to break the gun down the rtv came out in one piece.i imagine the wax is a pain to remove
