I Finished removing the mold lines and stripped the paint off of a grip frame today. Still to do is the barrel band. Hope to finish that tonight/tomorrow than it's off to be powder coated.

forgot the picture!

Long days and pleasant nights to you...

I did a reseal and hammer replacement on my son-in-law's 38T.

Here is how it started.

Here are the old and new parts laid out.

The replacement hammer required a little grinding where it meets the sear, in order to engage properly.

Here's the finished result.

BTW, when the assembly instructions for the valve say "finger tight only", it's important.
Too tight and it won't release any CO2.

That would be the end seal for the CO2 cart.   It wasn't actually bad when I started, but it comes out in pieces.

I usually get my stuff from Rick Willnecker at Precision Pellet.
http://www.airgunshop.net/contactus.html

He had a replacement hammer for $10 and the seal kit was $19.50.   The kit includes a new piercing pin as well as the o-rings and valve seat.   When Crosman changed the end seal on these guns, they also updated the piercing pin.

I wish I had ordered 2 kits, though, because while I had this gun apart on the bench, I found another 38T (.22) in a box and brought it home.  And guess what?   It leaks.   I have some O-rings, and I already tried flipping the valve seat around but no luck.    I may try turning a new seat on the lathe, but if that doesn't work,  I'll buy another reseal kit.  No biggie, his shipping is quite reasonable.
