think ive mentioned it once or twice before but those are the 2240 grips i got from https://youtu.be/LCTAjDXHjf4   <-- that guy

they are quite expensive and im not entirely sure if he still accepts orders. but thats where i got em and yes they are indeed beautiful 8)

i really wish i had a old style grip frame laying around... what little shows of the black plastic under the cover of the grips are kinda bugging me

oooooh that is very nice! that definetly goes into my bookmarks for later spending sprees :-[

gotta take it easy on the airgun spending for a while as im saving up for a rem700 for the autumn hunting season and those arent all that cheap over here. neither is the paperwork or gun locker for that matter

Little bit more done...

Painted..semi gloss black lacquer.

Rust bluing some of the steel parts...5 cycles into it...still a ways to go. Parts are ready for carding.

Need to get some different stain for the wood and some oil to finish off..dark walnut I'm thinking.

While I was stripping the wood for the 100...figured I might as well do the 1400 at the same time. Stripped and one coat of Minwax "Early American".

Al, that stain is looking good, I tried the same color on my M-Rod, but mine was splotchy. Your is looking great, looking forward to see that restoration finished.

Mr. G the wood looks fantastic, what kind is that? Old school is really hard to beat  8)

Gippeto

Thanks fellas. :)

I've no idea what wood Crosman used on the 1400, but I like the look of it and think this one is going to turn out nicely.8)

I wish the 100 was similarly endowed with nice wood...appears to be fairly plain chunks of maple. :( Still ultimately correctable. ;)

My steel breech arrived today. So far I have installed an RP valve, a Boss Buddy transfer port, and heavier hammer spring. I also polished the trigger, and installed a polished empty 22 rim fire shell in the trigger spring. I installed my Daisy Electronic Point sight. Now to get the time to sight it in. :) :)
