Yesterday I go to my buddy's house to do some shooting. I ran out of .177 ammo so I took my 1322 and 2240 with me. Both guns are rated at 460fps, but I found my 2240 was shooting harder than the 1322 even with ten pumps.

I was shooting one of those Heineken beer kegs after we finished it of course. The 2240 was penetrating the keg while the 1322 only made a big dent. The only power mod on the 2240 is a long probe bolt. Could the bolt only make such a difference?

What was the ambient temperature? CO2 produces higher pressure at higher temperatures.

Can't say for sure, Ern, since I do not know what the psi would be in a 1322 valve. 75 degrees provides @870 psi or so. Barrel length can make a difference, but I doubt the extended probe bolt accounts for that much more fps. Same pellet shot from each gun is a wash. Running the pistol over a chronograph would be very useful information.

Thanks Larry, that will be very useful  :-* Funny since the barrel on the 1322 is longer than the 2240  ???  I really need to get a chrony.... Maybe the rear breech screw was hitting the hammer spring and affecting the power. I felt it hit the spring some when I tightened the breech so I cut it down a bit today. Need to go shoot that keg again now and see if it made a difference.

Maybe your piston seal is cut or dry and not Filling the Valve.

You ran out of .177 ammo? Go here and you can get good pellets for about a penney apiece. They work great in my 1377.
