Im looking to add another airgun to my collection, i apologize if this isnt classified as a handgun, to me it looks like a handgun with the stock attatched. i clicked on a link on this sight and it showed thekit with the 2289 gun it is a pumper i do not own a pump gun of any sort and thought it is cheap enough to learn to do some mods and when low on co2 shoot this for fun what are your opinions of this little gun? im about to order but want yalls opinion before i do

The kit has been selling for $69 at Walmart on-line... it's a steal considering the .22 pistol (alone) is $55 and the aftermarket #1399 stock is another $22+ (alone).

And... you get a cool lil bag, some targets and a tin of pellets... oh ya, and that "water" bottle for your "water"  :D ;D

Almost forgot... you know the stock is detachable so, get the 1701 crosman grips from Crosman parts dept. and a set of grip screws (about $8 total) and you have a pistol set-up too. Keep it all inside the back pack!  :-*

that is where i got the idea from i was lurking in the link area earlier and seen it and have been debating it ever since some say go the 1322 format, i think the only thing i may want later is the steel breech and maybe an upgrade to the valve i dont care if it is fast im just going to shoot cans with it

Mine is stock except for a Crosman fiber optic front sight and a thorough cleaning and trigger job. It's a great shooter.

For me, the whole concept is a light & easy to shoot pistol/carbine that breaks down into the backpack, steel breeches and optics and mettalic mods defeat the purpose IMO.

I gave one to my oldest son for Christman and he really likes it. We set it down on the benchrest and got it sighted in at 5m, 5 shots under a dime. He got a good one. The trigger on it is really nice and smooth. Shot a Crosman pointed and a Crosman hp right through a GAMO pellet tin at 5m. Tried every pellet I have and it likes the Crosman pointed and the Crosman hp pellets. Haven't put it on the Crony yet. Great platform to start your mods on.
We need to keep going and have fun doing it.

Good for you! Here is what you saved. Pyramyd Air prices.

stock = $25.95
pellets = $5.26
shipping = $12.65
total = 98.65

The funny thing is i am an avid backpacker as wel as hunting guide done some extremeist lightwieght back packing although in Texas we cant use air guns for squirrels which is a game animal rabbits are open game, but i bought this just because i dont have a pumper and if i decide to venture into doing some mods then i have a cheap investment if i mess it up. myy 2240 is here first thing im doing is clean barrel test fire then compress the stock spring test fire again then  use 600 grit sandpaper and clean up the friction points/ points of contact ive watched enough you tube videos to feel confident in doing this

Y'all forgot the Band-aids!!  And no kidding, it's a decent pack of em too!

I know you already ordered but I agree with everyone above. It's a great value!  The backpack is good for small tasks. It's not going to replace a serious backpack but it has its uses. About the only thing that's crap in the kit is the bottle. Just shoot that lol.

What you said about wanting a pumper or springer to shoot when you're out of co2 or just don't feel like blasting through a full cartridge is exactly right.

As for the backpacker 1322 that is in the bugout kit...it's a great platform to start out with and mod. As you said, dump the breech and the plastic barrel band. Mine can almost shoot through a 3/4" pine board. My other 13xx's are very accurate and powerful too.

Glad you pulled the trigger on the kit!

howie1968

What barrel band can i get for it? im going to shoot the plastic breech for a little while but i do want to jump on a metal barel band

Fronzdan... and just as I pushed "Post" I realized that I never mentioned the green bag of Curad bandages, hey, they will work as good as any right?
