Im about to click buy on the steel breech from crosman, are there any tricks to doing this getting the gun back together? i have a red dot coming and the 459 mounts but  thinking about the steel breech as it will be more durable then the 459 mounts is it as simple as undoing the sight screw and another allen screw?

Your breech you ordered will come with the small .05 breech screw located in the front,as opposed to the rear under the bolt as they come on the guns when ordered from the Custom Shop. That makes it easier.Nothing to it really,as there is only three fasteners that hold the breech on.The rear breech screw, the small .05 screw, and the socket cap head screw that hold the barrel.Be careful when working with that very small breech screw...make sure that your allen key is seated firmly, because that screw can strip easily. When you reassemble you want to make sure the rubber transfer port o-ring,is there, and the small metal transfer port needs to be installed with the longer side facing upwards...that's the part that will go into the breech...

I think the probe on that comes with the steel breech is a bit longer, than the one in the stock plastic breech..I don't think the extended bolt will help accuracy from what I've seen.It will however give you a few feet per second increase,as it will seat the pellet past the transfer port opening.

You can also order a Discovery bolt from Crosman which is extended...

Both are pretty simple, but you will get the one with the screw in the forward location...no sweat.... 8) :-*
From what I've seen, only the breeches that come on the Crosman Custom shop guns have the breech mounted in the rear location,as well as the breech on the Benjamin Discovery..
