You could get you a power adjuster from here and you can get it in aluminum or brass...  it allows you to adjust the hammer spring.... http://www.arts-shack.com/pages/end_caps_and_page1.html

Good deal :-*

So how does the pistol feel in your hand? Do you need a better set of grips? When the pistol feels right your hand you hit the target more consistently.

it feels really good, a set of houge monograms or pachmeyr type would feel great the plastic is a little slippery wondering if there is a rubber grip out there for the 2240

You can always do the truck bedliner spray on the stock grips.

You can get the Crosman power adjuster 2300-124 from Crosman parts dept that matches your pistol and, has a spring guide, new spring, etc... it' about $13.

Fo grips, get the 1700-031 & 1700-032 (R&L) also from Crosman parts dept.. They are smooth with no "wood grain" stuff and the grip area is a pebble finish. The fit and feel are way better than the stock grips.

+1 on the bedliner spray. That is your low cost route to a better grip.

Without mentioning options that waste CO2 in favor of fps, you could order an extended probe bolt from Mellonair. There will be a very small gain in velocity, and you may also see some enhancement of accuracy. This type bolt sets the pellet consistantly in the same position and in front of the transfer port. Both very good things. There are a few valve modification you could do to pick up a few more fps. Here are a few to check out -

Oh, and consider the Pro-Top valve made by one of our forum members, fivestart45. I did a short write up on this device not long ago. It is a part that replaces the front of your 2240 valve, increases power, and makes the valve compeltely servicable without removing it.

the protop is a nice device i had one if you ever need to change the internals of your valve it can be done without taking the valve out
since i have no plans on going back to co2 i sold mine

I'm a fan of red dots on pistols.  Congrats! RC

I painted my grips and did the old "BB's mixed with Elmer's glue trick" to fill the inside of the grips.  The feel of the pistol is much more balanced.

That is a link to a post by fivestar (designer of the Pro-Top) and is filled with very good information. My post was http://www.crosman-air-pistol-owners-forum.com/board/index.php/topic,8993.msg101617.html#msg101617. I seem to have cleared the photos and graphs off Photobucket so there are blank placeholders in the thread. Here are the numbers from my first go-around with the Pro-Top. Since my initial tests were over two day in my chilly indoor range, there were some velocities that probably should have been higher, but you can see a definite improvement.
