Checking for Air Leaks?

How do you normally go about checking for air leaks in your air guns? I would think a few would be...
1. Chronograph - A noticeable reduction in feet per second (on a fresh cartridge).
2. Shot Count - Getting say 20 shots from a new 12 gram C02 cartridge when you normally get 40-50 shots.
3. Hearing a Leak - Hissing noises.

Any other signs or ideas on checking for leaks?

That is the basic list for determining you may have an air leak. Once that is established, you need to find where the air is leaking from. Since these guns are pretty simple, your search for the problem is pretty much between the tip of the valve to the exhaust port opening in the barrel.

In addition to above, when I was testing my re-sealed 38T, I let it sit on the bench over night with a full cartridge attached.

The old tissue paper test, place paper over breech,if it shifts or blows off when fireing gun,you have a leak.
Transfer port seal or bolt probe seal.

I got a new Mark II for my wife and kids... I think it was a pretty good trade.

i read some people spray their guns with soapy water
on my guns with gauges i watch the gauge for change an the other guns i fill them leave set for a week or two then cock and pull the trigger,if not in a hurry i will do it over the chrony thats a tell tale way to see if my guns without gauges have leaks
when i first put the gun together i do the tissue test to see if my bolt or transfer port leaks
when i put the new barrel on my stainless steel 2260pcp the transfer port leaked and destroyed the tissue with each shot :o
put an o-ring under the poly port leak stopped
closed mouths dont get fed
