What about a one piece cartridge/cap unit to fit the 2250 type carbines? An extended CO2 cartridge drilled and tapped at the base to accept a drilled out cap stem. The cap itself would have a check type valve stem (like the ones on tires). You can then insert the unit and fill with an air compressor or if at the range fill with a standard portable air tank. This is a good example of what happens when you're bored The drawings not the greatest but you get the idea.

Wouldn't it be easier to make a tube that goes into the 2250 with a screw on one end that looks like a co2 bottle end and the a cap on the other end with a fill nipple that screws into the 2250 tube? Then you could fill the resivor like a paintball tank with co2.

Those Co2 carts are quite thin walled,Co2 is only around 900psi at 20deg c, over charge that with HPA (2000+psi) and you will be lucky not to blow your fingers off.

i sort of did that. but i didnt use a co2 cartrdge (theres no way to unless you weld it) I drilled and tapped the front of the valve to fit some stainless steel plumbing pieces

Plus, if you are talking about a regular air compressor, it will not work. Not enough pressure. I'd stick with the disco tube and valve set up for hpa

If it's for a 2250, I'd just put a Disco valve in it, or even just the front half (with the o-rings) on a 22xx valve. The roll stamp on a 2250 tube isn't as far forward as a 2240/60 tube, and as a result the Disco valve front o-rings are just ahead of the dreaded roll stamp (i.e - roll stamp area sees no pressure). Then get  a Disco tube cap/fill adapter and your good to go....after you pin the valve, of course!

I'm surprised that they (co2 cartridge mfg's) haven't made a cartridge the same OD as the 12 gram but just longer for the 2250's. The standard cartridge is around 3.25" long. There is at least 2" between the base of the cartridge and the edge/top of the tube. I don't know what gain if any in shot count you would have with a say 4.5" cartridge?
