2300 vs. 2240??

Beyond caliber, what is the difference between the two? I can have a 2240 for $60 but the 2300T is $170 and the 2300S is a lot more. I can understand the target sight on the 2300S is worth some bucks, but otherwise, what am I missing? Does the 2300 have higher-end internals?

Lothar Walther match grade barrel, adjustable trigger spring, trigger travel stop set screw, muzzle brake and post sight and the Williams adjustable sights for the 2300S.

You can prob build your own or a Crosman Custom Shop gun cheaper?

2300 has in addition or in place of

Valve reducer and lighter hammer spring.
sear spring adjuster
trigger over travel screw
and I think a hammer spring power adjuster
smooth tube (no roll stamping)

So its almost like everything we could do to the 2040 but without the fun of actually doing it??

Yes, most of us do not add the trigger over travel, but is a nice option. Also you don't hear to much about people adding a valve reducer. Power is what is usually on everyone's mind....

One thing it is missing is the 1701p trigger assembly. If they added that, it would be a sure pick, but they probably don't because it would eat into the higher priced gun sales. The LW barrels are hard to come by unless you buy the 2300 or a custom shop gun.
