I was so excited to get some new bling in for my stock 2240 from GMAC Customs!  I have put the new brass trigger, crossbar, brass fill cap and new stainless screw upgrade, and new steel breech with hollow brass bolt and handle!

The breech seems to be missing a plug?

Did I miss something or was I shorted an item?

There is also to allen head set screws in the steel breech. What is the correct scope rail to fit this or is there are certain length the scope rail should stay within?

Just plinking around!

does your breech have a rail?
if it does 3/8 dovetail rings or 11mm common .22lr rings
if you order a steel breech kit from crosman it comes with an end plug
or you can pm crosshairs see what he has for brass breech plugs

It does not have a rail but the top of the breech has to tapped and threaded holes and they sent to grub screws.  I assume this to add a rail If I do desire.

What's up with NO plug??  I could see if you were changing a breech with a plug already installed by seems a little ify they sent nothing at all!

Those two grub screws are to hold the barrel to the breech.

Some aftermarket steel breeches don't come with a plug.  One of my 2240s with a Crooked Barn breech is plug less.  It's not really necessary, but you can have one made for you.

As far as I know the Crosman breech and the Don Cothran breech are the only two that come with plugs for the rear end of the breech.  All others are plugless.  Could be wrong but that's what I've found so far.

And as mentioned, the plug is not necessary, only a nicety.

I've never wanted something so useless in my life.

The plug was included in my GMAC brass breech kit.
Perhaps included in some kits and not others.
That said I left the plug out anyway.

Fitted the brass plug in my Gmac breech, had to cut a little off of it so cocking knob (1389) could sit back in home position ok
Looks good through.
The Crooked Barn alloy breech on my 2260 is solid at rear end.

For what it actually does I would prefer a rubber bung rather than a solid cap. (Especially on a black breech which I am using)
I will have to search one out.

Is that the "hex" version?  My "ambi" breech didn't have one.
