Well, I think I am going to do it.  The worst thing I would be out is $40 on the new 1377.  And this customer has been real nice way before the question even came up about him getting a bolt retrofitted.  It was my idea to see if he wanted to trade.  It might just need to hang on a wall and be what it is... a working 1st gen.

Thanks for all the takes on what you would do, though.  :)

well if $40 is all you are spending on the new gun then a trade is well worth it

I would... but depends on what you want to do with it.. I would restore it to like new if possible, the 1st variants aren't hyper-mod food IMO, that's what the new 1377s are for.

it doesnt take much to make it a good gun
just make sure the hammer spring isnt weak
it makes a difference when flat topping
if you are leaving it stock then the old one is fine
i bought out all the NOS rear cockers available to me locally a few members here got luckey and get them from me kept one for myself its on my bruiser build.that gun will put out 20fpe if i want to! do that with a new 1377/pc77 with a 14.5" barrel ;)
